In Less Than A Week

2014-02-08

Dear Jesse,

My 14 year old cat, Tinker, has had skin conditions her entire life. When she found us 12 years ago she was covered in welts. I took her to the vet. He said she was allergic to fleas. He gave her a shot and advised that I keep her inside. All was good for about 8 years. One day I noticed a small bump on her head. Took her back to the vet for a shot. Didn’t work. But it didn’t get red or inflamed and was more like a constant scab and it didn’t bother her at all so I decided we could live with it.

Six years later and as many vets, meds and numerous diets — it has spread to a large patch on her head, into her ears and just last month a small spot on her side.

So I began researching natural diets and found Jesse through a recommendation from a friend.

We have six cats so I decided, what the heck, might as well put them all on it. In less than a week I have noticed a remarkable change in all of their behaviors. They are more alert, always come running at meal time and their poo has decreased to the point that my hubby thought something was wrong!

I am keeping a close eye on Tinker. I combed out the old scabs and don’t see any new ones. I am praying this is finally the cure! I will send updates as time goes by.

Thank you, Jesse. Your information is complete and easy to follow. You have been so kind in answering questions. I am recommending you to everyone I know and that is quite a few people.

I am co–director of Lynn’s Animal Rescue in NJ and we are trying to see if we can afford to switch all of our guys to a raw diet.

Thank you so much!

— Maria & Tinker (and Harley, Big O, Cassie, Louise and Frankie)

PS: Frankie has no teeth and has NO problems eating the raw meat. I just cut his up a little smaller.

Oscar Had Parvo Virus — But Now Oscar is Healthy and Full of Energy

2013-08-29

Dear Jesse,

It’s been a year and half passed since I contacted you for raw food supplements and asked for your help when Oscar had parvo. Oscar is now 2 years and 3 months old, sound and healthy, happy and beautiful, on raw diet. I owe you a big THANK YOU since you are the one who opened the window of raw diet and shared with me many valuable knowledge and information. Also you referred Dr. Kim Bloomer to me for further in-depth consultation on Oscar’s illness.

When I review all the photos of Oscar from his puppyhood, under parvo attack to grown-up today, I just realize two things are so important: to raise a dog on raw diet and with the 'naturopathic' approach, that is patience and persistence. We need patience to allow dog to heal itself and to grow in his own natural way. Sometimes our own fear, anxiety and eagerness could put extra stress on dog and affect its healing/growing process. We need patience to learn from our dog as well and for our dog to understand us. Persistence - continue to do what's right. It takes time to get the ultimate outcome, but all the efforts we made will definitely payoff. That's what I learned from Oscar.

Have a wonderful day!

No More Dry Fur — No More Bare Skin

2013-03-01

I corresponded with you last fall as I was learning about raw food diets and determining what works for me. Your excellent site was the only place I could find an alternative (egg shells) to feeding raw bones, which I find too frightening, particularly after my male scarfed down a whole chicken thigh.

With your guidance, the daily routine is now ½ cup ground veggies, 1 oz organ meat, 7 oz muscle meat or fish, and several of the supplements from your online store. I prep a week’s worth of the veggies and meat every weekend so each morning it takes me 10 minutes to dish out their food, make my own granola mixture breakfast while they eat, and then clean up. It’s a breeze once the routine is established.

Barkley (the black Scotty male) had such dry fur last summer that he scratched continually, wearing his fur right down to the bare skin around the base of his tail. His coat is now like velvet and he never scratches. When I brush their teeth, I notice how little plaque buildup there is with the new diet. Last but not least, I no longer have to worry about the raccoon which last summer learned that if he (she?) pushed through the dog door, the reward was a bin of kibble waiting in the kitchen. With the kibble gone, the raccoon has moved on.

From Barkley, Buffy and me, thank you for your wealth of online information, your excellent supplements and your support.

Thank You Jesse

2013-01-11

THANK YOU, JESSE!

I raise American Pitbull Terriers and they are the absolute joy of my life.

Katie May is going to be two years old in May of 2013. I bred her. She was sick for the first part of her life with terrible diarrhea, no matter what I fed her. I tried all kinds of different dog foods and the results were the same. I even began making food for her using chicken, vegetables, and white rice. Still she stayed sick. She was also always hungry. I looked online for answers and really started to lose hope. Vets didn't provide me with solutions that worked either. She was diagnosed with colitis, also.

Jesse, when I stumbled across your website and began reading the information you provide, it all made a lot of sense. I was skeptical, just because I had been through so much with this dog already and love her so much-all I wanted was to get her well. I struggled with her sickness night and day, just wondering and trying to figure out the best for my Katie May.

Since I really had nothing to lose and everything to gain, I decided to take your information and give it a try praying the whole time that she would get well. Her stomach would make very loud growling noises and she would twist and her sleep was constantly interrupted. She constantly itched and scratched and had hair loss and sores on her body where she would bite herself, when I first began this diet.

Jesse, I have tears in my eyes as I am writing this email to you because Katie May is better now. She doesn't itch anymore. She can sleep and not be tormented. She gets full now. She is so happy and healthy. My prayers have been answered and me and Katie May are so happy.

I could never thank you enough or tell you just what a difference your work has made in our lives. You, my friend, have helped me so much. I really reached a point of such great sadness and desperation. I didn't think I would ever be able to get her well and she is everything to me. She is well now and I still can hardly believe it. She responded marvelously to the raw diet. You have been a miracle to us. Keep up your good work because you are so important to all of us and our pets really need you. From the bottom of my heart, Jesse, thank you.

– Jeff

A Big Thank You

2012-10-07

I know you probably have a billion stories like this but I wanted to send you a big thank you for your help and tell you what has happened. My very sick bully has had an amazing turnaround. Her fur, which was falling out due to a skin infection is so soft and full beyond anything I ever expected. Her folds and wrinkles that were constantly infected, even though I cleaned them daily, are now free of infection and are soft and beautiful. Cleaning is now only once a week. While we still deal with inconsistent stools, I have learned that peanut butter and pumpkin help with that. Maggie has lost much needed weight and has more energy than ever. Enter Stanley, I adopted Stanley to be a playmate for Maggie. He is a Yorkie and they are known to be finicky eaters. Stanly is a voracious eater! He loves his raw food! Dinner time is so exciting for both of them and they are great friends. Thanks to you for helping us to create a not only happy, but very healthy home.

My 11 Year Old Dog Is Running Like A Puppy Again!

2012-07-27

Thank you so much for your informative website. A year ago today, I found your website and started my two dogs on raw meat from Taste of the Wild. After a major detox, my 8 year old female English Bulldog's skin allergies, paw licking, hip problems and ear infections are gone. No other food has ever cleared up all of those things and she runs around like a puppy! She had been on medicines for many years for ear infections, hip problems and also had a grain allergy which caused the paw licking. My 11 year old female Pomeranian is running around like a puppy again and no longer has ear infections or watery eyes. Along with regular teeth brushing, my senior dogs' teeth have gotten whiter! Last February, I got a new Bichon frise puppy and started him on raw meat immediately. He was on Purina Puppy Chow before I got him and his face was covered in tear stains! In a couple of weeks, his tear stains disappeared and almost six months later, he is a big healthy bouncy puppy and his teeth and fur are still pearly white! I'm not surprised with the results; it's such an amazing diet for our furry friends. I will never go back to commercial dog food again. Thank you again for all of this wonderful information Jesse! God bless you!

My Two Large Breed Rescues Are Now Doing Better

2012-03-12

I have 2 large breed rescues, Great Pyrenees Mountain Dogs – a male and female. I didn't choose them, they chose me. I said yes because the need was obvious and severe. This tells about the female.

I don't have much history on my girl, other than she was used for breeding (over breeding) and I am her 3rd and forever home. Fur began to shed at a time she should have been filling out for winter. I also noticed her skin got a very dark pigmented color and was very dry... as was her once soft fur. Blood tests indicated low thyroid so a prescription was given – .8 mg twice a day. That worked for about a year... until the same problems reared up again. Blood tests showed normal thyroid. I was sent home with no answers, a large bill, and sick dog. Belle's fur continued to fall out... really really bad – you could pull it out with a light touch – from her back high hip and moving forward. Her neck was also an area that showed extreme fur loss and dry pigmented skin. She was deteriorating FAST.

With no help from the vet, I started my online search for answers. Then I found your pet-grub.com. I ordered several supplements and began to change her diet. Feeding large breed dogs is not inexpensive (130 lb, 85 lb) and a raw food diet has been a fiscal challenge.

That said... I believe the supplements made a HUGE difference in Belle's health. At one point I thought I would have to put her down because she was deteriorating at an alarming rate. Things did not change quickly but they did improve. First the deterioration slowed (less fur falling out)... then it stopped (no fur falling out)... then I began seeing the signs of fur growing back.... first on the high hip... then moving forward.... then on the neck area (that skin is still very dry so growing back fur has been difficult).

I have just placed my second supplement order and look forward to seeing continued health improvement.

Thank You for the information on your website and quality products that have proven themselves to me and my ever increasingly happy girl.

Enjoying Your Method

2011-06-06

Thanks so much. I'm so enjoying making pet food via your method. It's just a breeze now and of course they are all happy. Especially the cats. The cats have always loved the raw diet though. It's night and day over feeding commercial food. I cannot think of one person that feeds commercial cat food that doesn't put up with the indifference that cats display. Having fed commercial for years, I can remember going through different types trying to find something that they wouldn't turn up their nose at. Now, I kid you not, you could get trampled feeding this crew.

Sick Dog Becomes Healthy

2011-05-29

Thank you so very much for your on–line book. China, my 11 year old Shi–tzu has had food allergies for 9 years. I have spent thousands on diets and medicine but recently nothing worked. She was stinking like a cow pie under your nose even though I washed her twice a week with Rx shampoo. Her skin was hot to the touch and oily in just hours after a thorough bath not to mention the hair falling out all over. Anywhere the dog went she left her oily stink — the carpet, the furniture — it was a huge job just cleaning after her trying to keep the house smelling neutral. She was so miserable I considered putting her down as she couldn’t enjoy life and was a touch me not due to her allergies. I have spent countless hours searching for a way to feed my dog so as not to exacerbate her condition. One vet even suggested that she may be allergic to her own anal gland exudate!

Because of her allergies, I started her on just raw meat and warm water for one week and plan to add one ingredient a week until she is on a complete and healthy diet.

In just one week China is smelling and acting like her old self again. I am elated with the progress, I have seen in my dog, on your diet recommendations! China is even wagging her tail again! I can’t thank you enough for your on–line book — you have literally saved China’s life.

The Results Have Been Amazing

2011-02-22

Thank you for this!!

I am a dog trainer and work for a dog grooming business. I have always known that a raw food diet is just plain common sense. I have convinced many pet owners to come over to the other side so to speak, and put their animal on a raw diet. The results have been amazing!!! Of course it has!

I went online to find a way to make your own raw pet food, and I was blessed to find your site. Many pet owners I deal with say they cannot afford the raw food offered on the market. You have put into print what I have been thinking and telling folks. But you have gone all the extra miles!!! Your book is extraordinary and genius!!! Believe me... common sense is genius when it come to understanding animals, their behavior, and their eating requirements. Common sense is rarely used these days in our society. Thank you for all your hard work. Your hard work just made my life and the lives of many pets easier. :) (grinning ear to ear and if I had a tail, it would be wagging viciously)

The Transformation Speaks For Itself...

2010-08-19

I am writing to tell you of the transformation in my pets since they have started eating all raw meat.

I used to have to clean up cat vomit on a pretty much daily basis. Sometimes they would even vomit right into the kibble bowl. From DAY 1 on raw meat, none of my cats has vomited with two exceptions — someone fed one of the cats a piece of cooked ham, and one of them got up on the counter and ate some pancake batter. No surprise those foods made the cats sick.

They are all acting years younger. Neko (12, neutered male) has gone from hissing at everybody all the time to climbing in laps. Bitty (6, spayed female) is as playful as a kitten, and has already started losing unhealthy pudge. Ed (9, neutered male, king of the cats) is being a bit of a bully with the other cats (nobody is getting hurt) but he is being affectionate and playful with us humans.

Ed took to eating meat right away, but Bitty and Neko are still adjusting. They seem unable to believe the meat is really for them, and act like they are afraid to get caught eating it. An unexpected side benefit — I saw Neko eating a bug today. Don't worry, our home is not treated with pesticides, and that palmetto bug was a healthy snack for a too–skinny cat.

I can't thank you enough for making this information freely available. It surely leaves no doubt that your motivation is love for animals. Thank you for helping me to re–connect with my pets.

Sincerely – Virginia

As Far As I Knew — I Did Not Have A Sick Pet

2010-07-18

My story begins a little differently. As far as I knew — I did not have a sick pet.

My dog, who is now 8 years old, was getting gray hair far earlier than I thought was normal — she's had two operations on her back legs due to stretched out ligaments from chasing squirrels, and had the mid life bulge around her mid to back section — but the vets never said anything about her being too heavy at 60 pounds.

I purchased a juicer and wanted more info on juicing and came across the Juicing Book website. As I read further, I saw the pet nutrition link and forgot all about me and was intrigued that there was even a reference to pets on a juicing site.

I had been making my dogs food since the Chinese scare of tainted pet food. What I didn't know then, was while I was looking after her best interest — I was slowly killing her at the same time.

So, long story short, I dove into the whole raw diet for Rudy. I cut her off of all cooked foods starting in either February or March of this year, 2010. She wasn't keen on it and wouldn't eat for several days, no matter what I put in her bowl. I soon discovered that she didn't mind eating meat that was partially frozen. Now, she eats her food enthusiastically, cold or room temp.

Her change in diet did come with some repercussions. She had the most awful gas for a couple of days in the beginning and it about killed us. Jesse informed me that this was her body detoxing and should end shortly — which I'm all too happy to report did.

He suggested that she would benefit from some supplements; especially the digestive enzymes and the Pet GO which supports the organs and glands for a reason I don't remember... but I too have to use digestive enzymes among other supplements, and this made sense to me as well.

About 4 or 5 months into her new eating regiment she started urinating what looked like coffee colored urine. She didn't behave stressed out, still ate her food but it was a pretty disturbing sight. So I took her to the vets and they did an ultra sound and said she had no blockages, and wanted to send me home with antibiotics (which I didn't use); but in the meantime I hit Jesse with an email asking him what his thoughts were. Again, he informed this that this was more likely another sign of detoxification as she was expelling kidney sediment from her kidneys. He never knew that she had bladder problems from an infections as a puppy; but because of the dark urine it was a kidney issue. Sure enough, without any antibiotics or other drugs her urine cleared; she had terrible gas again for a couple of days and every so often it will creep on us again — but we are now familiar with the fact that this is a detox mechanism.

Jesse also explained to us that the flushing of the kidney sediment from the kidneys has helped prevent the forming of kidney stones, which obviously make me happy to know!

By the way, while at the vets office, she weighed 53 pounds (which means she has lost 7 pounds while eating all the food she wants). She looks amazing, her coat is becoming back to normal and her figure looks really good — the middle age spread is gone and she doesn't waddle when she walks.

The picture doesn't do her any justice — but hope that you can see the color of her hair becoming natural again as opposed to gray.

We can't thank Jesse enough for holding our hands thru this process — it will be much easier for the next puppy that we get — but all the information and assistance is beyond words.

— Nancy and Rudy

In Just 6 Days

2010-06-10

Here’s our story.

We have 2 rescue Chihuahuas, one is a mix, we believe, with Jack Russell Terrier. His name is Lucky and he is approximately 8 years old. We rescued him 3 years ago. Our other little guy is Chico and he is about 2-3 years old. We rescued him November, 2008 and they said he was 2 but we think he was younger, just looked older and acted older because he was undernourished. We have been feeding NutroMax and Iams dog foods, which we believed were on the better side of commercial grade pet food.

Lucky has lost some teeth and recently developed allergies with wheezing and coughing. The vet gave us 2 medicines for him to give twice a day. On Saturday, May 29, 2010, he came to his breakfast, sniffed the food, shook and shuddered and walked away. I thought that was weird!, but when he gets hungry he will eat. Saturday night he did the same thing and also Sunday morning. By now my husband, Robert, and I are getting a little concerned. Lucky is a little chunky, but not obese, so missing a few meals probably wouldn’t hurt him as long as he was drinking his water, which he was. Well I tried giving him the canned food, which he ate for a couple of meals and then did the same thing as he did with the dry. Sniffed, shuddered and walked away. Well, for a week I tried several things, canned chicken, cut up chicken (sautéed) and then on Friday, June 4, 2010, I started searching the internet for homemade pet food. Praise the Lord! I found your website. I immediately switched both dogs to raw food on Saturday morning. I happened to have thawed a chicken breast, cut it into small pieces and they both chowed down!

Saturday I bought some ground meat, turkey and some beef (lean), and have been feeding them both raw meat mixed with some chopped frozen veggies ever since. The immediate improvement (within 6 days) in both dogs has been just short of miraculous. Lucky is not wheezing and is back to his old bouncy self. He gets the bounce from the Jack Russell side of his family. He hasn’t had his meds since he quit eating because we thought they might have been part of the problem. Chico is more relaxed and not as fearful, which is a strange benefit, but I’m loving it. We believe he was quite abused in his former life and even after being with us for 1-1/2 years still acted fearful. Both their coats are smoother already and their bowel movements are much better, still firm, but not hard. Believe it or not they are even getting along better with each other. I guess just generally feeling better overall.

I am so excited about their new diet, oops, new life style change, and am telling everyone about it and giving them your web site info and a copy of the condensed version of your book.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for being there when we needed you.

God bless you and keep up the good work taking care of His creation that give us so much love. And isn’t love the key to everything?

– Hazel

Willie Is A Magician. His Hot Spots Have Disappeared!

2010-04-09

I started following your diet suggestions, for my cat Willie four months ago and have had excellent results. Willie was a very sick cat, exhibiting all the symptoms, hot spots, hair loss, fleas, hair balls and no energy at all.

I am very happy, and so is Willie, to report that all those symptoms are now gone and he has gained all his weight back, has a full and shiny coat, there are no fleas and he has not thrown up in four months! Willie also suffered with hot spots, and they too are completely gone.

My other companion, Putter, has also taken to eating a raw meat diet, supplemented with Eggshellent, and they love it.

Your raw meat diet has turned the page for my cats' health and made me believer forever. Many thanks.

The Wonders of A Wholesome Meal!

2010-03-10

Hello everyone,

We are two Pomeranian brothers Dolce & Gabbana.

We were born on the 18th of November, 2009 in Malta, Europe (near the southern part of Italy in the Mediterranean Sea).

We have been struggling with allergies since we started eating at 4 weeks of age.

When our mother took us home for the first time she immediately realised that there was something wrong with us, Big possibility it was allergies. Mummy took us to the vet with no delay. Our vet changed our food, yet another garbage dry food perhaps even worse from what we where having. It was full of corn, maize, corn, maize. Mummy thought this food was more appropriate for chicken and not puppies. This food only made us feel worse with watery eyes, itchy skin and it just irritated much. So Mummy thought ok I will feed them what I believe is nutritional and healthy – nothing can beat natural food.

So mummy started cooking for us fresh cooked food – 2 parts meat and 1 part vegetables and some boiled apples, pears and raw bananas instead of vegetables for breakfast. Our skin and itching had improved in the first week but our eye irritations and watering got worse. To the vet again. This time the same brand food but a veterinary diet and still with corn plus some supplements such Omega 3, Omega 6, taurine, minerals and vitamins. Since Mummy did not know much about these sources she did not trust it and believed this was another commercial crap. She bought it and the food also but never gave it to us. Now Mummy came to the conclusion that we were allergic to wheat – so no treats, allergic to corn – so no commercial food. Mummy had to find what was harming us in her fresh food diet that she believed in so much.

Mummy began to believe that we had protein allergy. So our diet had been adjusted to boiled duck breast and sweet potatoes. At this point Mummy was worried sick about us and our health at this very crucial time while we are growing from babies to young boys. She was worried that we are going to be weak for the rest of our lives just because she did not know what was the proper food for us. She was feeling irresponsible that she had brought us to her without knowing how to take care of us properly. The love she gave us was not enough for our needs. She hesitated to go to the vet again as she felt that he was not understanding her when she explained natural food was her choice to feed us.

Meanwhile Mummy kept on searching on the internet for a remedy, day and night of course this was how she learned to detect our allergies to wheat, corn and also protein – from the internet. Mummy was worried sick, Saying to her self, but if I don’t feed them protein from meat what can I feed them to make them grow strong and healthy? Vegetables were not enough! Dogs are not vegetarians! It is against their nature. Mummy’s head was spinning now feeling down and sick of not eating herself. Spending nights not sleeping, staying on the internet searching for a remedy for our proper intake and praying to mighty God to help her find a solution to make us healthy and happy. On Friday night or early Saturday morning on March 5th, 2010, Mummy came across Pets Need Wholesome Food Also. She thought, here I am, this is the answer to my prayers!

Mummy kept reading till morning – her eyes filled with tears of joy. She knew this was it. Same diet as she was giving us, which she believed in so much except uncooked! So Mummy has found the key. At least, that was what she was hoping.

After she read and understood all which was very plain and easy for her to understand, she went to the freezer, got the fresh meat which she had bought and packed in portions the previous day for us. Mummy thought she would start off with chicken breast minced, although, there was a time that she was beginning to think that we where allergic to chicken meat but after she read the story of the The Sick Pet Project, it encouraged her to give it to us. She thought this is for sure more wholesome than the poor meal of 2 parts sweet potatoes and 1 part cooked duck breast which we have been eating for 3 days now.

So Mummy prepared the well blended vegetables which consisted of carrots and peas and defrosted the chicken mince by putting it in a plastic bag and soaking it in warm water: For this time she had learned not to use a microwave for our food. Than she broke some eggs, washed the shell and removed the white lining inside and also removed the parts which where printed with ink for date of consumption, then she crushed them as fine as possible by putting them in a plastic bag and crushed them further with the rolling pen several times. Unfortunately, in Malta we do not have a homeopathic veterinarian, let alone a place where to buy the homeopathic remedies for pets.

By now it was 6 o’clock in the morning. Mummy had realised that we where hearing her all the time so we were not sleeping in our playpen. While Mummy always gave us breakfast at around 7:30 AM or 8:00 AM, she could not wait to start giving us this wholesome meal and start us fresh on this what she called miraculous raw diet. We where so starving that we ate double the portion we normally eat. Mummy started crying and showered us with kisses and cuddles and telling us that now we were on the road to recovery, good health and happiness. We had a very nice sleep afterword and Mummy was very much concerned about our reaction to the new diet so she kept watching us constantly while we where sleeping like two little angels.

When we got up we where rather upset because it was our digestive system. Mummy thinks we needed some FloraZyme LP according to what she understood in her reading but unfortunately Mummy did not have any on hand, neither could she go buy it nor make it her self for us like she did the calcium. So Mummy decided to rub our tummy and stomach with warm hands after some time one of us went to the washroom on the nappy to get relieved, that was me Dolce, and immediately I started playing and running with my toys. Gabbana was still upset looking up at Mummy with mercy. He did urinate quit a few times, not only on the nappy but wherever. His urine was very clear like water. Meanwhile, five hours has passed and Gabbana had no sign of apatite.

This time we were not so keen on the food both of us. Not much of a nice taste like the food we are use to. So Mummy decided to mash some peanut butter in it because that is our favourite treat. We ate it all from Mummy’s hands, given with love.

My brother Gabbana still has not been relieved and he was sleeping again when Gabbana got up went to the nappy pad and got relieved. Seeing us happy playing and full of life was a great relief for Mummy! We have been fed 4 times a day as usual but much bigger amount, almost double of what we normally ate. Although we are very small, we still have managed to take big meals until this morning. I, Dolce, weigh 1.6 Kg and my brother Gabbana weighs 2.1 kg. Today is our fifth day on the wholesome meal raw diet. At our first meal of the day we ate the usual big meal and after some small pieces of pear and bananas. At our second meal we ate a little less and our third meal was less for Gabbana. Gabbana always seemed to be the strongest.

In these 5 days, we had become two complete different puppies – no excessive itching, no eye irritations and the rough hair patch on the lower part of our back and tail begin to get smoother. Mummy had helped it a little by messaging some olive oil on it too. It is unbelievable how much benefit we have had from the wholesome raw diet in just 5 days. We are already feeling and looking healthier – and much more playful, relaxed and obedient. And all this was not possible without the help and amazing educational information to our Mummy of how to feed and make wholesome meals for us (https://www.pet-grub.com/).

We have no words to thank you enough Jesse. You are a God sent gift to us and those like us. May God be with you and bless you always!

I'm Totally Sold On The Raw Meat Diet

2010-01-27

I'm totally sold on the raw diet in every way — health wise, time wise, even money wise — it is less than I was spending on wellness canned food.

And if it wasn't for all your information — your book — your website — your informative emails I would feel a bit more lost, but I don't because of everything you have provided. You have made me feel more confident about everything.

Thanks again for everything and I'll keep you posted! :)

What A Difference Your Diet Has Made!

2009-03-13

I just wanted to write and tell you what a difference this new diet has made in my dogs' over–all health. I am awe struck and I have only had them on it for about three weeks.

I have two Chihuahuas and a Sharpei mix. My Sharpei (Nelly) had skin problems or allergies, I think due to the dog food I was feeding her. I could run the sweeper three times a day and still have hair everywhere. I was seriously thinking of finding a new home for her. I work two jobs and have teenagers and not enough time to sweep constantly.

That's when I started searching for a new diet for the dogs. I came across this and started it right away. It doesn't really consume anymore of my time and I don't have to sweep everyday anymore! I just can't get over the difference in their coats. They are so shiny and healthy looking. Thank you so much Jesse!

I actually enjoy feeding time for them. They love it. Even the finicky Chihuahua! And another great part about this is that they don't poop near as much as they used to. I know that Nelly would go at least six times a day if not more. I have learned so much from your website. I have read a lot of books about feeding a raw diet and one would say do this and the other one say don't do that and back and forth but none of it worked out for us and none of it was as simple as this is!

I just can't thank you enough.

My Australian Shepherd Has A Second Life – Thank You!

2008-12-16

Hello! I would like to first say Thank You for your information! My Australian Shepherd is 14 years young and was having problems walking up stairs and jumping up on the bed/couch. He was on the raw food diet for about 2 – 3 weeks when he started running up the stairs, jumping on the couch/bed. Because of his age and having such a hard time, I was preparing myself for his trip to Rainbow Bridge, feeling that it would be sooner rather than later. Now I feel the later is the best word. He is so happy, you can see it in his eyes when he is lying on the couch!! My dogs teeth have turned white! It is truly amazing! Again, Thank you!

Rocky's Comeback

2008-09-14

I took on a dog that was very, very skinny, extremely stressed, and sick with a major cold and diarrhea caused by an intestinal parasite that he picked up at an overcrowded animal shelter. That was August 22, 2008. He was only the second dog I've had, and I didn't feel all that equipped to handle him (I'm still learning!).

I was scared to death he was going to die on my watch. But I immediately ditched all commercially prepared food and started feeding him by hand, scrambled eggs, rice, and cheese. I started doing research and found your book, which I enjoyed and printed. I've employed its recipes (for the most part — I still have a cultural need to just sear the meat before serving, still mostly raw, and I still include rice), but the results have been phenomenal. I bought a $20 food chopper at Wal–Mart to chop the vegetables and the organ meats, and for most things it works just fine. I use cheese as training treats. And this was while he was on medication, which as we all know can hinder weight gain.

Now he's a happy bundle of energy, more than I can handle, actually. We go out for long, energetic walks and today I bought my first set of running shoes in over 15 years. We may wind up saving each other here!

Because of his poor health, I took pictures of him every day to examine his progress in detail to make sure I could tell for sure whether he was improving or getting worse. They wound up being great before and after testimonials for the power of healthy food for your dog. These pictures are only 10 days apart! Except for the last, which is 3 weeks from the first, I think. I'm allowing him to stay lean and energetic, and we're working on building up muscle.

Thank you for your very helpful website – Nancy

Chloe Is Doing Well — Thanks Jesse

2007-01-31

ChloeHi Jesse, you have helped me so much. Chloe has gained 4 lbs since I added the Thyro GO, Rena GO, Pet GO and the Vitamin C with rutin. She rarely gets diarrhea now. I hope you know how lucky I feel to have found you. Thanks for everything!

PS: Chloe was chosen to be an Ambassador for the Animal Adoption Center (a no kill shelter) and as of 1/15/2007 she is registered with Therapy Dog Inc.

No More Doggie Odor

2006-10-01

I read your book seven months ago and immediately started to use the diet you advocates for my three pets — two dogs and a cat. I have had only good results. There has been a marked increase in energy, especially in one dog who was sickly. Their teeth are now white and clean, which they were not previously, there is no more doggie odor. I had absolutely no problems with fleas this autumn, which is unusual. The animals have good appetites, their coats are shining, the dogs' noses are cool and moist whereas previously they were dry and hard. I have the highest regards for Jesse and consider him an extremely intelligent and enlightened young man.

Soft Fur, Shiny Fur, Bright Teeth

Our dogs fur is very soft and shiny, their teeth are getting whiter, and they are so much more relaxed. Seeing them play again with each other like puppies is the most wonderful endorsement.

One Word — Fantastic

2005-08-15

We thought we would write to let you know how our cats are doing on the fresh food diet. In a word — fantastic! We have four feline companions in total, ranging in ages from 5 months to 9 years. All are healthy & full of vigour now. When they were eating canned and dry food they often had diarrhea (we fed vet recommended food), would throw up regularly after meals and had constant problems with hairballs (we brushed them a lot). All that is stopped now. One of our males, part Russian Blue, had recurring FUS (feline urological syndrome). With this natural way of feeding it has completely cleared up. Another remarkable thing is they almost never drink water now (we always leave fresh water out), all they need is provided in their food. We feel a lot better about feeding fresh meat and such rather than man made food with preservatives and chemical additives, etc. We want our cats with us for a long time and feel with this diet they will enjoy lengthy and healthy lives.

Thank you for introducing us to the feeding of fresh wholesome food the way Mother Nature intended. It did take a little while for them (and us) to get used to it, like asking kids not to eat junk food, but now they attack their meals with gusto! Thanks again.

Thanks Again Jesse!

2005-07-30

My 12 year old male cat, Lynx, was diagnosed with F.I.V., and feline AIDS several years ago. I used to spend a lot of time worrying and money on veterinary bills. When a friend of mine suggested raw foods, I thought it was a terrific idea. It made perfect sense to feed animals that are domesticated a more natural diet. So I immediately started Lynx on the program. Within weeks I started to notice differences in his looks, his energy, and even his temperament. Even my friends noticed the difference in him and want to know my secret. I always tell them about you. Thanks again Jesse for your advice, encouragement, and excellent service.

Shining Bright

2005-03-10

Wynnie's coat shines like I have never seen it shine before. She also had a bowel condition that flared up every 1 to 2 weeks. Now these flare ups are 2 months apart. Her water consumption has been cut by more than two thirds. In closing, there are no words of appreciation that can express how thankful I am for your dedicated interest in the nutrition of dogs and cats.

Katy's Official Gospel

Did you know that... Dr. Pottenger found that during his 10 year cat study with over 900 cats that the cats fed raw meat over their life span showed resistance to infections, to fleas, and to various other parasites, and showed no signs of allergies. They are friendly and predictable in their behavior patterns. When thrown or dropped as much as 6 feet to test co-ordination, they always landed on their feet and came back for more play. Now you know!
