Saying Goodbye To Pepper
Dear Jesse,
I just wanted to write once more to thank you for all the time you spent helping me to better care for my little girl Pepper. On December 27th I said my goodbyes and I held her in my arms as she passed on—she had gone into heart failure, her little body was so tired and it was finally time. It's a heartbreaking time, but I have known since she first entered my life more than 15 years ago, that part of that very special responsibility of being her guardian was knowing when to make that final decision. This past year has been one of the hardest years I've ever experienced, but in the midst of all that sadness, there was a lot of joy and happy memories were made, and many of them, I doubt very much would have ever been made without the changes you helped me to make in her life—I do believe this last year was a very good year for her in spite of all the difficulties—I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am that you were there for us to help answer my questions and to offer advice. It's a comfort to know that I really did all I could for her in the time that we had together, and to know that she lived a wonderful life because of it.
From the very bottom of my heart, I thank you so very, very much… for everything. And I know if she could have, Pepper would have thanked you too.
Wishing you and all your loved ones the very best that the New Year has to offer,
Rebekah
